I must admit, it's hard to deny the beauty that is Kauai!

Today Demian Maia will be joining me at Kalapaki Joe's for UFC 113 where he'll be signing autographs and giving away UFC and BadBoy MMA gear.

Come down and meet the Brazilian UFC fighter and watch UFC 113: Machida vs Shogun at Kalapaki Joe's, Kauai's premier sports bar.

Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama set for UFC 116

A long-rumored middleweight fight between Wanderlei Silva (33-10-1 MMA, 3-5 UFC) and Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-1-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is set for UFC 116.

Fighters Only magazine confirmed the match-up earlier today, and MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) subsequently verified the fight is signed with sources close to the situation.

The fight was originally rumored for UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Although not officially announced by the promotion, UFC 116 is expected to take place July 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is penciled in as a headliner of the event, though his opponent is not yet confirmed.

UFC Set for BOSTON in August!

Mark your calendars, friends. The Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its Boston debut on Aug. 28.

UFC president Dana White, who formerly lived in Boston, told the Boston Herald the organization will host an event at the 19,000-capacity TD Garden on the date, though an official announcement won't be made until closer to the show.

While a guest on MMAjunkie.com Radio in November, White said the UFC would "absolutely" makes its Boston debut in mid-2010, and he said shows at both Fenway Park and TD Garden (also known as the Boston Garden) were under consideration for the debut show.

Kimbo Slice Fighting at the Finale--Televised at Kalapaki Joe's

The UFC sent an announcement confirming that Kimbo would fight at the finale. Rumor has it that Houston Alexander will be his opponent – depending on what happens in competition.

Matt Mitrione is still struggling with injuries and if he can’t “get the sand out of his vagina,” as Kimbo says, he seems to be first in line to step into the empty spot.

Kimbo’s first fight in the UFC is official for December 5th at the finale of this season’s The Ultimate Fighter at 4pm HST.

Watch it at Kalapaki Joe's, Kauai's premier sports bar with an ocean view.
